What experiences have made you feel most alive?

Here’s a question I came across recently and took some time to consider my answers. When I really thought about it, the experiences that have made me feel most alive haven’t necessarily been the big, grand, well planned times. When I really took the time to think about it, the times when I have felt most ‘alive’ have either been times riding a bicycle with the wind through my hair, taking in the scenery around me, or swimming in a lake, a river or the ocean. When I really thought about it, these have been the most wonderful, exhilarating experiences for me.

It was good for me to reflect on these because now I know what I can do to help re-create those good vibes. I can simply jump on my bicycle and ride it, or else I can go for a swim that’s not in a pool, somewhere in nature. That actually fits really well for me because I know spending time in nature really energises me. Nature recharges my batteries, helps me to feel grounded, calm and ready to take on life’s challenges as they arise.
