Revitalise your mind, body and soul this winter at our retreat in Martinborough. A perfect time to connect with self, rejuvenate and recharge the batteries this winter.

What’s included?

Blissful restorative yoga, yin yoga and yoga nidra sessions, Mind, body, eating workshop. Nourishing whole-food morning tea, afternoon tea and vegetarian lunch. The beautiful grounds of Peppers Parehua are there for you to enjoy a walk, to connect with nature or to enjoy quiet outdoors meditation. There is a tennis court with complementary racket hire available for guests taking part in the retreat. For more adventurous spirits, an outdoor pool is available for your use (please note unheated).

Optional Extras

Like the feel of adventure and wind through your hair? You can hire bicycles on site and explore the surrounding Martinborough countryside.

Therapeutic massage will be available if you want to add the ultimate pamper experience to your retreat (optional extra). A fabulous holistic therapeutic masseuse will be available for you on-site. Bookings are usually limited to 30 minute appointments due to demand. Massage should be booked in advance and is strictly subject to availability.

Winemakers Cottage

Each Winemakers Cottage has its own entrance, a designer kitchenette, air conditioning, cosy fireplace and private patio. The bathroom has a large spa bath and underfloor heating. Sleeping arrangement is twin share.

Garden Cottage option

The closest airport to Peppers Parehua is Wellington Airport. Peppers Parehua is situated on an acreage at the edge of the historic village of Martinborough, in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand’s North Island – 1 hour’s drive north from Wellington.

“Yoga nourishes my soul”

I am a qualified (200hrs YTT) yoga and meditation teacher. I undertook my initial yoga teacher training in India, studying under Swami Vidyanand and have taught yoga in New Zealand and the UK. I have a particular interest in Yin Yoga, following the principles of Paul Grilley. I find Yin Yoga simply nourishes my soul. I use yoga and meditation to develop self-awareness and love nothing better than to share with others the beautiful balance yoga has bought me.

The restorative yoga session will be suitable for all levels of experience. We will use yoga asanas or postures, gentle movement with the breath, requiring concentration of the mind.  Restorative yoga will give you time to focus and nurture awareness of body and breath.

I will be leading the blissful 90 minute Yin Yoga session which is suitable for all levels of experience. During this session you will have time and space to take the journey inward to connect with self and all the tools you need to ‘let go’.  By the end of your 90 minute Yin Yoga session you will feel; calm, relaxed and rejuvenated. 

I will also guide you through your Yoga Nidra, a guided relaxation. This is said to be more energy restoring than sleep. I can certainly recommend it if you need to recharge the batteries and take a break from a busy routine. It’s a perfect way to end our day, on cloud nine.

Mind Body Eating: A New Approach

A mind body eating approach incorporates nutrition and eating psychology, addressing not only what we eat but who we are as eaters. 

What we bring to the table when we eat, how we think about food and our beliefs about the world can all have a profound effect on how we digest and assimilate the food we eat, our calorie burning capacity and the nutritive functions of the body.

This positive, transformational approach empowers the eater to make long term changes and can be helpful to address concerns around weight, fatigue, digestion, mood, immunity and enhance general health and wellbeing.

Amy offers a 90 minute, interactive and practical workshop introducing key ideas and principles which will leave you feeling motivated and empowered.

Yoga Yamas and Niyamas

In accordance with the yoga yamas and niyamas all meals will be vegetarian and this will be an alcohol free and smoke-free event.

Cancellation Policy

If I need to cancel the retreat for any reason before 20th August 2021, you will receive 100% of your money back.

In the event of a Covid-19 lockdown, you will receive 100% refund of any amounts paid to me.

If you need to cancel your booking, you will only receive back money paid to me if I am able to fill your place on the retreat.
