Yoga on Waiheke

Stopping to smell the flowers 🌺 on Waiheke

I visited Waiheke Island this month and of course had to get involved in some yoga. What a blissful experience it was staying on Waiheke, glamping in the relaxed location of Fossil Bay. The yoga experience I had there did not disappoint. I came across new yoga studio Koukoulee whilst zipping into the village of Oneroa on my borrowed e-bike. As a side note, I can fully recommend getting about on about on Waiheke by e-bike, perfect for the beautiful yet hilly terrain of the island.

I was fortunate to experience a vinyasa yoga class with the wonderful Satya. What I enjoyed most was the theme Satya used, she encouraged us to use seasonal change to Autumn as a time of personal reflection. During this class Satya asked us to consider what we no longer need and to use each exhale to let go of it. As I came to my sankalpa at the start of class I knew I had to let go of excuses and self doubt. I focussed on using each exhale during the session to let go of the old excuses and the niggling self doubt. By the time the class had finished I felt such a lightness of mind and energy in my body and that was just the beginning of my wonderful day!

Wishing a bright and successful future to all at studio Koukoulee, especially to the wonderful yoga guide Satya.

Namaste 🙏
